This is the lame site that Zed and Jeremy wrote to keep you all well informed about the very first meeting of the Vancouver Ruby Brigade. It sucks hot rocks for design, but you’ll enjoy all the fantastic information that you can gather from it’s holy canon.
No, we weren’t drunk when we wrote this (well, Zed wasn’t).
We’re a small group of Vancouver based Ruby programmers that just want to get together and talk code, hear great information about Ruby, and help boost the local Ruby scene. Everyone is welcome to come and we’ll keep the tone of the meeting friendly (or else!).
We currently plan on meeting the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Please join us on the 10th of October and take part.
For more information while we get the fun webstuff going, please check out our Rubyaholic Listing.
Meeting place will be at Workspace Cafe @ 21 Water St, Vancouver BC and then may move to a diner or bar depending on mood.
You can chat with other folks on IRC in #van.rb on irc.freenode.org. Most of us never sleep so we’ll be there.
We finally got a Vancouver Ruby Brigade mailing list. We really recommend you join the list
In order to keep the group light and friendly we’re going to give anyone who’s looking for Ruby programmers a minute to stand up and announce during the first 10 minutes of the meet-up. Please no pimping your products unless you are willing to give a presentation about how you used Ruby to implement them. This isn’t a sales opportunity, but it could be a good recruiting option for people.
